Ryan Kushner

 

Ryan is an expert in climate technology commercialization and acceleration and the Co-founder and Director of Startups at Third Derivative (D3), a joint venture between Rocky Mountain Institute and New Energy Nexus. D3 now has the largest cohort of climate tech startups in the world, an SPV to fund all current and future companies, $3 trillion in market cap across corporate partners and $2 billion in deployable funds across VC partners.

He is the author of “Accelerate This! A Super Not Boring Guide To Startup Accelerators and Clean Energy Entrepreneurship”, sponsored by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, World Wildlife Fund, and New Energy Nexus, and featuring Y Combinator, Techstars, 500 Startups, Google X, and other innovation programs around the world.

Formerly, Ryan was Network and Curriculum Lead at New Energy Nexus, founding team of the Free Electrons global utility accelerator, faculty at Singularity University in Energy + Environment, advisor to Carbon180’s CarbonTech Lab, founder of The Oceantech Community, mentor at Techstars Energy and Big Ideas Ventures.

His life's mission is taken from Buckminster Fuller’s World Game, which is to, “Make the world work for 100% of humanity (and life)“, and his epitaph will be “Let’s All Have Fun.”

His highest purpose is supporting his amazing wife, Amanda Joy Ravenhill, Co-founder of Drawdown and ED of The Buckminster Fuller Institute.
